Speculation about the visitors was rife after a large corporate business jet landed at Merimbula Airport on March 7.
The Bombardier jet from SG Aviation is owned by Spotlight rich lister Morry Fraid who established SG Aviation in October last year. As a commercial aircraft, the Bombardier jet carries about 100 passengers but the corporate aircraft has just 15 seats and on this occasion carried just four passengers.
The spokeswoman would not be drawn on exact locations that the Spotlight executives were viewing saying only that they were looking at a few different places.
The News Weekly understands that the group went to Bega for a meeting. It is possible that they may be considering the Sapphire Marketplace or Bega more generally.
Mr Fraid is a major investor in Home Consortium, the property group that recently bought 82 current and future Masters sites from Woolworths and has already signalled his desire to expand the haberdashery empire.
