Bega Local Court was told the 65-year-old man is currently in hospital in Canberra and was unable to attend on Tuesday, February 14, when his matter was scheduled to be heard.
In August last year, officers from the Far South Coast Local Area Command began investigations into alleged sexual assaults of children that occurred between 2001-2003.
Following these inquiries by police, the Eden man was arrested on December 15 and taken to Eden Police Station where he was charged with aggravated sexual assault and three counts of indecency with a person under the age of 16.
He has also been charged with possessing an unauthorised and unregistered 0.303 rifle.
Magistrate David O’Connor adjourned the case to Bega Local Court on Tuesday, March 28, with the man remaining on conditional bail.
