The study focused on the impact of natural and human-induced stresses on the coastal dunes and management strategies that could protect the dunes from further destruction.
Through this fieldwork the students realised the importance of involving the local community, in stabilising the dunes and revegetating with native coastal plant species.
Most of the students felt “construction of fences around the dunes would minimise recreational de-stabilisation and erosion of the berms; consequently achieving an enhanced beach amenity along Tathra”.
