The “eucalyptus dream pop” group beat Julia Jacklin, L-Fresh the Lion, Marcus Whale, Rainbow Chan and Ribongia for the title.
Shining Bird also took home the Best Song trophy for a second year running, this time for “Helluva Lot”.
The band will continue touring Australia in March and according to their Facebook will play in Wollongong again in April with a venue to be advised.
