“We will be racing Monday for Tathra Cup and then on the fourth and fifth of February for the Bega Cup Carnival and a whopping $550,000 in stakes will be on offer over the three days,” a spokeswoman for the club said.
Officials said the prize money will be a huge draw for trainers from the area and afar with immense entries expected over the two events.
The seven-race card will take on a tropical twist come Monday with organisers declaring the Tathra Cup Hawaiian Day.
“The Tathra Cup is the Bega Valley Shire’s biggest family race and sure to be a winner for everyone,” the spokeswoman said.
“It’s a chance to take the family out, have some fun and enjoy a fantastic day at the race course.”
Everyone who wears a Hawaiian themed shirt or top will receive a free Corona.
The club will also continue its free bus service both to and from the track with pickup times and locations available on the website at www.sapphirecoastturfclub.com.au.
Bus details can also be found on the club’s Facebook page.
There will be entertainment for the kids including the ever-popular jumping castle, while if you feel like getting frocked up there is the fashions on the field.
“There are fantastic prizes, so bring a picnic or enjoy some food delights from the Lions Club,” the spokeswoman said.
