Ms Campbell-Pegg made her Olympic debut competing in luge at the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games, after qualifying despite limited experience in the sport.
During the Vancouver games in 2010, the Sydney-based athlete made history becoming Australia’s first dual luge Olympian.
From 9am Ms Campbell-Pegg will host the day’s events on January 26 inside the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre at Zingel Pl, Bega.
Ceremonies will include an Australian Citizenship Ceremony, presentations to the Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year, Senior of the Year award and Bega Chamber of Commerce Senior and Junior Citizen awards.
Following the day’s ceremonies council will host free children’s entertainment, market stalls and live entertainment. Bega Lions Club will host a sausage sizzle in Littleton Gardens.
