Alan Bruce Potts, 41, currently serving a three year sentence in Goulburn Correctional Centre on unrelated charges, pleaded not guilty to 13 charges in Bega Local Court on Tuesday, January 17.
Police alleged Potts was the driver of a Toyota Celica seen crossing over double unbroken lines and accelerating to speeds of up to 150kmh along George Bass Dr in Surf Beach on February 23 last year.
After a brief chase by highway patrol, the Celica came to a stop at a roundabout before slamming into the front of the police car and lifting on to its bonnet.
Police allege the driver then jumped the guardrail and ran into nearby bushland, where they disappeared from sight.
Forensic evidence later taken from the vehicle showed the ignition had been tampered with.
However, Magistrate Doug Dick found the prosecution had not proven beyond reasonable doubt it was Potts behind the wheel at the time and dismissed all charges against him.
Potts will remain in jail on the unrelated matters until early 2018.
