A maintenance access track is being built to enable crews to carry out maintenance work on the bridge structure.
Work on the access track is expected to take nine days to complete, between Monday, January 16 and Wednesday, January 25, weather permitting.
Once the track is complete, crews will begin maintenance work on the bridge which is expected to be completed in mid-2017.
Lane closures and a reduced 40 km/h speed limit will be in place between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
The RMS said work details for the ongoing bridge maintenance will be confirmed closer to the start of work.
Motorists are advised to follow the direction of traffic controllers, signs and keep to the reduced speed limits.
