Wayne Buick put in an inspired effort to take out first place in A grade with 39 points edging out Bruce Haase one shot back on 38. Third in A grade went to Ross Simpson.
Peter Buttrey took out B grade with 38 points from runner-up Ray Stephens on 36 on a count-back from Arnold Watson.
C grade saw Len Murphy take the win with the best score of the day of 43 points from runner-up Trevor Hemsted’s 39.
Three eagles were landed with Jackson Hearn scoring a pair on the second and 16th, while Tony Crome landed one on the ninth.
The monthly medal was up for grabs Saturday and 66 players headed out.
In a close finish congratulations went to Arnold Watson with a great score of 68.
A grade winner was Paul Batten on 70 from runner-up Ken Adams with net 73 on a count-back from Tony Crome.
Dave Cole continued his good form to win B grade with net 69 from Ted Munckton’s 73.
Tom Boyd topped C grade with 73 from Tony Findlay on 77 after a count-back from Stuart Glen.
In club news, January 26 is the Australia Day medley event with an individual and four-ball best-ball stableford with play from 10am.
January 29 is the mixed foursomes 27-hole championship with timesheets on the board.
The day is also the Dad’s Army two-man ambrose Al Roberts day.
