Merimbula couple Les and Faye Macnee love everything about the Parkes Elvis Festival and are here for their third time.
Faye has been a huge Elvis fan for years.
“You can get total Elvis saturation while you are here,” Fay said.
The retired pizza shop owners bought a bus ten years ago and had it converted into a mobile home. They lived on the road for eight years before recently moving back into their house in Merimbula.
“We are going to live like normal people for a while and just go away for the winters,” Fay said.
They are catching up with Tamworth couple Peter and Lyn Davis who they met while staying at the showground during the 2015 Festival.
From the 2015 Elvis Festival they travelled to Tamworth with the Davis’ to attend the Country Music Festival and have kept in touch ever since.
Faye said if she had thought of it at the time she would have put a picture of Elvis on the back of the bus instead of Les and herself.
“At the time I was just thinking of Les’s Dream and Faye’s Nightmare,” she laughed.
We had so much fun in Acapulco so we decided to come back to Vegas.
Maryborough couples Linda Witham and Bill Gaiter, and Edith and John Harris had so much fun at their first Elvis Festival last year, they booked the exact same site on the way out the gate.
“We just love the atmosphere and the friendly people,” they said.
“We met people from Melbourne and Sydney last year and we have kept in touch.”
The foursome are looking forward to the Pair of Kings show on Sunday afternoon.
