Hannah Little has received the annual prize from Andrew Warren Associates for topping Year 12 in Legal Studies at her school.
The prize is a voucher to the Co-op Bookshop.
Ms Little said she would go to the University of Wollongong next year to study law, as she had already been accepted through early entry.
The Tathra resident’s ultimate goal was to eventually work in human rights law with the United Nations.
“I thought about journalism first, but doing Legal Studies helped change my mind,” Ms Little said.
“I went to Cambodia in Year 10 for school and it made me want to do it so much more.
“We did volunteer work, and you just saw you can really help some other people.”
