The team led by John O’Connor came out on top after an extremely hard-fought battle with the Bega Newsagency crew led by Anne Moore.
Officials said summer had finally arrived and conditions were excellent for play on the night.
Both teams seemingly came into the grand final as underdogs after causing some upsets in the semi-finals previously.
Officials said it was anyone’s guess who would come out on top as play got underway.
Pizza Bite got out to a great lead with a resounding 6-0 result in the first set, but Moore’s team fought back with a 6-4 win.
Then the third set was drawn level at 5-5, forcing the teams into a playoff tie-breaker round.
Moore and her side came ahead 6-5 in that encounter after what officials said was some “outstanding play” with the teams locked in deuce repeatedly.
The fourth set was nearly a wipeout as O’Connor’s team secured a 6-1 result in the fourth.
Newsagency young guns Lawson and Zac both played some fantastic tennis to reel back the games they could and put Moore’s side in with a chance.
The result came down to the final deciding set where O’Connor and Chloe faced off against Moore and Lawson.
The combination from Mal’s proved too strong on the night, securing a 6-2 win to seal the overall victory.
Moore’s team graciously accepted the defeat on the night and congratulated their opponents on some fantastic tennis.
Both teams had picked up three sets apiece, but the result favoured Mal’s Pizza Bite, winning 27-21 on games.
Players thanked the committee, club volunteers and substitutes for their efforts throughout the season.
A spokeswoman said everyone had enjoyed the season and really developed in their tennis.
The club and players are now looking forward to the return of the night competition in February.
The courts are available to hire for casual or regular play year-round.
