Bega High prides itself on Effort, Respect and Responsibility. In amongst the loud music and celebrations, these young men and women displayed all of those traits.
Many of the students showed a lot of gratitude to us and I was actually humbled by it.
Our future is in good hands with these country/coastal kids.

Greatly concerned
I am writing on behalf of the residents of Hillgrove House, Bega – a residential aged care facility for the elderly.
We are greatly concerned at the local ABC’s decision not to broadcast funeral arrangements on their early morning program.
Your excuse not to do so is that the information is available online.
This might be okay if everyone were able to access it. This is not the case of our residents and many other elderly citizens.
Secondly, not everyone buys the Tuesday paper so information comes too late.
As Annette Warby of Bega said in her letter to the Bega District News, I find it very strange that the ABC is now wanting more input from the community into the local radio station programming – and then straight away rejecting the one item we all wanted to have broadcast. It’s supposed to be “Our ABC”. Why isn’t it?
