Scott Andrew Druett, 35, flew into a fit of rage in the dock at Nowra Local Court on September 20 when Magistrate Gabriel Fleming imposed an 18-month prison term for his involvement in a violent confrontation with another man in Goulburn in May.

Court documents said Druett had kicked and punched the victim in the apparently unprovoked attack, leaving him with cuts to his ear and forearms and bruising to his knee and ribs.

Despite the seriousness of the assault, Druett was of the belief the 18-month sentence handed to him was too harsh – something he made abundantly clear to Magistrate Fleming in the moments after she announced her decision.

“Thank you, Your Honour,” he said sarcastically.

“Eighteen months, you f—k…..f—king idiot.

“You arsewipe, you will always be a piece of shit c—t.

“You make violence come out.”

Druett then turned to one of his supporters sitting in the public gallery of the court room and said to them in a loud voice “kick her son’s head in...kick her f—king parents’ heads in...I don’t want to talk to her.”

He was subsequently taken away by Corrective Service staff.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV camera and picked up on the court’s sound recording devices.

Druett was later charged with threatening a judicial officer and destroying court property – the latter relating damage done to the door of the dock as he was waiting to be taken to the cells.

He pleaded guilty to both charges in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday and was sentenced to a 18-months jail to begin from when his current prison term expires.

He will be eligible for parole in early 2019.
