Motorists are being advised the Snowy Mountains Hwy on Brown Mountain will be closed during the day from Monday, November 14, to Friday, November 25, for essential maintenance work.

Work will take place to repair a retaining wall and improve drainage to ensure the highway remains safe for motorists.
For the safety of workers and motorists, the highway will be closed between 9.30am and 2.30pm, weather permitting, from the base of Brown Mountain to the B double uncoupling bay at the top of the mountain from November 14-25.
An RMS spokesperson confirmed the closure is only on weekdays, with the road open on weekends.
Early work is being carried out this week and Brown Mountain will also be closed on Thursday, November 3, between 2.30-3pm, to pour concrete.
Two further 30-minute full closures will take place ahead of the main closure on November 14.
The community will be notified in advance of work being carried out.
A large amount of rainfall earlier this year has resulted in damage to the road slope and retaining wall supporting the road.
Motorists are advised to plan their trip as the alternative routes will add significant distances to be travelled and require additional travel time.
The main vehicles affected will be B-doubles, who will need to use Imlay Rd, which results in a significant detour.
Traffic heading to the coast from the Monaro Hwy will be directed to use the Kings Hwy to Batemans Bay or Imlay Rd through Bombala.
Local road users need to use alternate routes including Cathcart Rd from Bibenluke and Bombala through Candelo and Mt Darragh Rd from Bombala to Pambula.
Local traffic will be able to use the highway from Bega up to the base of Brown Mountain.
Electronic message signs will be installed at the top and bottom of the mountain two weeks before work starts to alert motorists of the traffic changes.
