The event has already seen 100 runners sign up for the five kilometre foot-race and over 80 for the tougher 10 kilometre competition.
“As an inaugural event I’m impressed with the level of entries,” Bega Fun Run committee of Sapphire Coast Runners member Debbie McGufficke said.
“We’ve drawn elite runners from Canberra and Newcastle, and others coming home to compete.”
Fellow member Trish Warby is excited by the highly anticipated inclusion of locally linked top-level competitors Russell Dessaix-Chin, Erwin McRae and Steph Austin.
“It’s so good of them to support the Bega Fun Run,” she said.
The courses traverse the most scenic parts of town, showing off well-known landmarks and landscapes.
“It’s been described as ‘so Bega’,” Ms Warby said.
Anyone looking to compete can sign up online until 5pm on Friday, October 21, or turn up on the day.
