The cancelled talks follow action on Wednesday, September 14 when workers at the SERH met for a mass meeting to address chronic staff shortages.
HSU NSW secretary, Gerard Hayes said that he had hoped to meet with the SNSWLHD chief executive on Tuesday, September 27 accompanied by one delegate and one local organiser to see how matters could be progressed and resolved. Mr Hayes said that the chief executive was unwilling to meet him with the two other union representatives.
“It’s disgraceful and the lack of dialogue is very disappointing; there has been no advice from the Local Health District,” Mr Hayes said.
A telephone hook up is expected between HSU members on Friday afternoon, September 30, to discuss the next course of action.
