Honours for the overall 36-hole open championship were awarded to Bermagui golfer Jackson Hearn from a field of more than 120 players.
Officials said the young gun got around the holes with just 143 strokes.
Accepting his trophy, Hearn thanked the men’s golf committee and the team of volunteers who had worked tirelessly to run the championships.
He also thanked his playing partners over the two days, who he had shared a laugh with and the event sponsors for their generosity.
Hearn and organisers paid particular praise to the club’s greenkeepers with Dave Thompson getting a special mention with his team having the course in outstanding shape throughout the year.
Results for Thursday 15th September 2016
A field of 91 players hit off in a Stableford event, sponsored by The Cream Patisserie. Proprietor, Luke Moresi enjoyed a round, and was on hand to congratulate placegetters, and present their prizes.
The A Grade winner was Rob Beuzeville, with an excellent score of 40 points, with Kevin Holzhauser runner-up on 37. David Bennett claimed third on a countback, edging out Neil Rutherford, both on 35 points.
Michael Derbyshire took first place in B Grade, with 40 points, with runner-up Rob Cattanach just one point back. WallyTusikov travelled from Mollymook to make 36 points and earn third place. Fourth went to John Stichbury with 34.
C Grade required a countback to determine a winner, and Noel Brady edged out David Nelson for the honour, both scoring 38 points. Michal Brown took third with 35 points, closely followed by Shannon Lamb, just one point back.

The final medley event of the 'Week of Golf' was a 4 Ball Better Ball (4BBB) competion, sponsored by Cooper's Brewery. Our own Club Secretery/Manager, Rob Beuzeville gave a talk on the history of the Cooper family and the development of their famous brewery. He described the range of beers they now produce and led participants in a very well received tasting experience.
40 pairs of golfers competed in the 4BBB competition, with the Mills-Mills combination proving unbeatable, making a huge 48 points. Mal le Comte and Michael Brown teamed up well to earn second place with 46 points, followed by Phil Christiansen and Robert Cox on 45, and just one point further back, Ross Simpson and Tom Thurtell took fourth.

Day 1 of the Bermagui Men's Open Championship
120 players travelled from 28 clubs across the state, to contest the Bermagui Men's Open Championship, sponsored by Michael and Fran Trenerry's Bermagui Cellars. Players enjoyed perfect weather conditions and a course presented in impeccable condition.
Rhys Dunlop (Catalina) took the A Grade honours, scoring 71 off his plus one handicap. Russell Rogers placed runner-up on 72, with a handicap of 4. With a handicap of plus 3, Jackson Hearn managed a score of 73 to take third on a countback from Jason Cavanagh (Howlong), who placed fourth.
B Grade winner was Graham Murtagh (Kiama) with a score of 73, on a countback from Robert Cox, who played off 13. Edward O'Donnell and Richard Oakenfull took third and fourth respectively, determined by countback, both scoring 75 off handicaps of 11.
Arnold Watson took first place in C Grade on a countback, scoring 71 off his 22 handicap, from Graham Ditton (Kiama) who played off 26.Third and fourth were also determined by countback, with Neville Staehr playing off 21 just edging ahead of Brendan Matters, who played off 27.

Day 2 of the Open Championship.
Whilst weather forecasters were unanimous in their prediction of rain for the whole day, the competition began in in good and dry conditions. The rain miraculously held off, until the final few groups were play their last couple of holes
Javana Fereti took the A Grade honours, with a score of 72. Wayne Buick, Nathan Batten and Mitchell Venables took 2nd to 4th, all on 73.
The B Grade winner was Jim Manton, with a score of 71. Peter Gassman (Kiama) to second place on a countback from Mark Field (The Grange), both scoring 74.Chris Bloom (The Grange) took fourth place, just one stoke back.
Santiago Valle won C Grade with 68, the best round recorded on the day. Arnold Watson took runner-up with 70, Peter Robertson third with 71, and Rocky Lagana fourth with 72.
