Jackson Hearn scoops Bermagui men's open

The Bermagui Week of Golf included daily rounds, but culminated in the men’s open over the weekend with players from 28 separate golf clubs taking part.

Honours for the overall 36-hole open championship were awarded to Bermagui golfer Jackson Hearn from a field of more than 120 players.

Officials said the young gun got around the holes with just 143 strokes.

Accepting his trophy, Hearn thanked the men’s golf committee and the team of volunteers who had worked tirelessly to run the championships.

He also thanked his playing partners over the two days, who he had shared a laugh with and the event sponsors for their generosity.

Hearn and organisers paid particular praise to the club’s greenkeepers with Dave Thompson getting a special mention with his team having the course in outstanding shape throughout the year.
