While for most sporting teams, it is a location that forms the common connection between the players, for Aldridge United, it is the blood that runs through their veins.
The side which took the field are all members of the same family, with the majority of the squad based in either Bega or Eden.
Team members included James, Callum and Declan Bower-Scott, while their uncle Dennis Scott both plays and coaches the team.
He said they always have a good time together.
“I’ve got about four of my nephews in the team, as well as a few cousins so to play alongside them is pretty special,” he said.
“Our ages range from 17 to 36, so we have a pretty good mix.”
Cheering the boys on at Mackay Park on Saturday was Dennis’ uncle, Joe Aldridge who was celebrating his 70th birthday.
