The crew led by coordinator Jarrod Palmer helped move 150 years worth possessions, auctioned off in June by Els and Denis Kelly after their recent move from their 90 hectare Milford Acres family farm in Tanja, to their new home in Kalaru.
“I would get these fellows to help any time,” Ms Kelly said as they met with the crew to thank them for their work and offer a heartfelt $300 donation to Tulgeen Disability Services.
“They’ve done a good job and we’d recommend them to anyone, but it won’t be us because we won’t be moving again,” she said with a smile.
The crew moved hundreds of items during the big move and crew coordinator Jarrod Palmer said many people were not aware of the organisation’s assistance in farm clearance sales.
“Big jobs like this might only come up once or twice a year, so many people don’t know what we do,” he said.
“Some might order a skip but don’t realise we can help out with a big move, the key is we have many hands available.”
Elders Real Estate Tathra director, Greg Coman, helped facilitate the big job.
“At the end of the day there would have been about a thousand items,” Mr Coman said.
“Denis didn’t believe they charged enough for their hard work so he’s decided to make a donation.”
Mr Kelly was full of praise for the crew.
“We couldn’t have got a better group,” he said.
Crew member Matt Adamson was fascinated by the museum age items he moved during the job.
“It was great getting all that stuff out,” he said.
