About 3.05am on August 27, off-duty police were travelling south along Princes Hwy, Bega when they saw a white utility that had crashed into the guard rail on the side of the road.

The vehicle was not running, the lights were not on and a single male was sitting in the driver’s seat, asleep.
He was spoken to and police found he had driven from Tathra, but got disorientated at the intersection of Kerrisons Lane and the Princes Hwy.
He had failed to make the turn at the t-intersection and crashed into the guard rail.
A partially consumed case of beer cans were sitting in the passenger’s side of the car.
The driver was given a roadside breath test which returned a positive result so was arrested for a breath analysis at Bega Police Station.
The breath analysis returned a mid-range reading and he was issued a court attendance notice.

About 9.10am on August 28, police received a call from a concerned community member in relation to the manner of driving of a grey sedan.
Police were told the vehicle had stopped out the front of a bank in Narooma.
They attended the scene and pulled up behind the vehicle, which was immediately exited by five occupants.
Police spoke with the male driver who was subjected to a roadside breath test that provided a positive reading.
They arrested the man and transported him to the Narooma Police Station where he was placed into custody and was given a breath analysis that returned a high-range reading.
Police immediately suspended his NSW drivers licence.
The man was issued with a field court attendance notice to attend Narooma Local Court on September 15.

During 2004 and 2013 a total of three warrants were issued for the arrest of a 32-year-old male.
At 12.05am on August 30 the male was driving a vehicle along Country Club Drive, Catalina and police stopped the vehicle for a random breath test.
The male stopped his vehicle and when asked produced his ACT drivers licence.
Police conducted checks and it was established the male had outstanding NSW warrants.
He was arrested by virtue of the warrants and taken to Batemans Bay Police station where the warrants were executed.

On August 15 a warrant for the arrest of a 21-year-old male was issued at Batemans Bay Local Court.
A warrant was also issued for a breach of parole order.
On August 27 police attended a local club at Batemans Bay where the 21-year-old was in a gaming area with two friends and his partner.
Police approached the male and placed him under arrest by virtue of the warrants.
He was placed in a police vehicle and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station where the warrants were executed.
