The latest community event of the local Cancer Research Advocate Bikers (CRABs) will see the release of 1000 plastic ducks into the Bermagui River on Sunday, September 4.

The first two ducks across the line will win cash prizes for their happy sponsor/owners ($300 and $150 respectively) with a prize of $50 for the lucky last duck as well.
The event will begin at noon at the Bermagui Bridge with a fun afternoon guaranteed for all. As well as the ducks, there’ll be a sausage sizzle and a jumping castle for kids.
The fiercely competitive plastic ducks can be purchased for $5 each on the day, from CRAB members and at business supporters, or by contacting the organisers via the CRAB website, www.crab.org.au
Among the entrants will be the infamous duck #119, who went missing in the 2014 race only to appear two years later at the Bermagui Blue Pool after exploits unknown.

The family event will also see CRABs make their latest donations to Cancer Council NSW and Bega Valley Can Assist.
Bermagui CRABs president Stuart Willenberg will present cheques for $15,000 to Cancer Council NSW and $5000 to Can Assist.
“The generosity of people and businesses throughout the far south coast continues to enable us to provide material support to the great work being carried out by Can Assist and Cancer Council NSW,” Mr Willenberg said.
“These presentations bring total donations through CRABs to almost $300,000 in just seven years. Our CRAB group has grown from a handful of members in Bermagui to an active group throughout the region and also supporting the establishment of new CRAB clubs in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales.”
