EARLY exchanges looked pretty even, but the Roosters proved too strong for the Narooma Devils, winning 28-8.
The Roosters opened the scoring early, but the conversion drifted wide from the difficult angle.
The Devils looked like levelling the odds repeatedly, but could not convert their efforts.
However, a strong series of tackles by the Devils fell apart as Marty Scott-Thomas intercepted a cut-out pass and ran a solo 80-metre effort to put the Roosters well ahead.
With the first half dwindling down, it was the head-geared captain-coach Ryan Apps (after suffering a cut early on), making a big break through the Narooma line to score under the posts right on the siren.
The conversion saw the Roosters ahead 18-0.
With the return of play, the Devils set up a clever run on the left wing and scored, but they also had trouble from the sharp angles and missed the conversion.
At 18-4, the Roosters looked comfortable on the field, but it was apparent they would be more comfortable leading 24-4.
That was soon the case as the Roosters set up another strong set of six to score, and convert down the right wing.
The Narooma squad consolidated and was able to post its second try, but again the angle proved difficult and could only muster the four points.
However, in the final minutes an intercepting run by Adam Blacka down the left wing for Bega saw him take the ball and run a 40-metre effort to score on the touch-line.
A missed conversion still saw the Roosters in charge at 28-8.
They held the margin until the final siren to pick up the 2014 premiership.
