Sharon Somerville and Adam Crain successfully defended their 2015 title in the Tathra Mixed Foursomes Championships played last Sunday. Runners-up were TC Gardner and his wife Kerry. Handicap winners were Peter and Sandra Mullaney from Jim Hutson and partner Judy Shallard.

Last Tuesday the ladies played the first round of the 4 Ball Match Play Championships, the 2nd round is next Tuesday. Robyn Brand & Juanita Trent v Mary Armstrong & Judy Shallard, Marnie Nicholson & Edith Robinson v Wendy Rhodes & Margaret Nall, Maree Hergenhan & Jan Waterson v Sharon Somerville & Kath Brown, Leslie Baird & Narelle Harrison v Sue Howland & Karen Enright.
It was a Stableford last Saturday with a field of 25. Div. 1 (H/caps 0-28) winner was Liz Canney with 37 pts. and with 35 pts. Karen Enright claimed 2nd place. There is no stopping Lyn Hambilton at the moment 37 pts. and she was the winner of Div. 2. The R/U was Renata Boulter with 32 pts. NTP’s 9th Carnie Bower, 14th beat us again and the 18th Nora Trent.
Sixteen ladies played an Irish 3 ball in last Monday’s 9 hole comp. Winners were Sylvia Davey, Robyn Hanrahan, Barbara Seckuless & Yetti Burgess. 8.15am next week for a Stableford. Next Saturday is a Par and on Tuesday it will be a Stableford for those not in Match Play.
In men’s rounds, Tathra players enjoyed a variety of playing options over the past week with Thursday’s DWWW first up with 43 starters. C grade’s Ian Murray took the day’s best with a magnificent round of 49 as Danny Morrah claimed A grade on 39 and Tiger Tierney the B grade on 40.
Saturday’s 4BBB Stableford saw the closest of finishes with the Pinga Newton-Jason Woods combo finishing 1 shot better than the Mayoh-Cummo duo 47 to 46.
