Cobargo School will hold a fund-raising event on Friday, September 2 from 5pm to 9pm featuring jumping castles, children's games and activities, a huge fireworks display and a surprise international celebrity guest. Tickets are $10 with family tickets $25.

Wyndham Village market
Experience the friendly Wyndham Village Market this Sunday, August 28, from 8.30 to 1pm where first-time stallholders will again be welcomed free of charge.
This all-weather market extends from the Historic Wyndham School of Arts Hall to the Anglican Church and environs where musicians are invited to perform in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere with excellent acoustics and plenty of seating for visitors.
So bring that instrument along with you this Sunday and get a spot on the blackboard from 10.30am.
Support the Wyndham Pony Club who will be catering with good food and cuppas in the kitchen this month.
Stalls include a variety of organic and locally produced goods, free range eggs, nuts, specialty teas, Wyndham’s own coffee, delicious homemade croissants and cakes, yummy savouries, handmade gifts and cards, beautiful knitted winter woollies, antiques, collectibles and quality pre-loved items, sweet treats, jams and preserves, books, goats milk soap, lavender products, essential oils and rustic treasures and more.
Stalls cost just $15 for Casual Sites, $13 for regulars who book 3 months in advance and $10 for the car boot sale.

Candelo craft exhibition
Local charities will benefit from the proceeds of the Candelo Craft Group’s Exhibition on Saturday, August 27 from 10am to 1pm.
Many quilts, craft items, exquisite embroidery ,sewing and knitting will be on display in the Candelo Hall as well as many handmade items for sale.
Entry is only $5 which includes a cuppa, tasty treats and a chance to win lucky door prizes, and a colourful quilt, a basket of goodies and a lap quilt all made or donated by the Candelo Craft members will be raffled.
Homestead history
Come and enjoy a PowerPoint presentation on the beautiful, historic “Grange” homestead in Pambula. Hear about Commander John Lloyd RN who was responsible for building this homestead in the 1840s.
Colette and Garry Moorhead will give this talk and presentation at the Bega Valley Genealogy meeting on Sunday, August 28, 2pm at the Old Court House, Toalla St, in Pambula.
Everyone is welcome. There will be no charge and please also stay for afternoon tea.
Trash and Treasure Sale
A Trash and Treasure sale for Can Assist will be held on Saturday, September 17.
Donated goods to sell would be greatly appreciated and could be taken to the pavilion at the Bega Showground on Friday, September 16. Goods can be picked up at the beginning of September by ringing 0439 321 945.
No mattresses, wardrobes or large white goods can be accepted.
All funds raised will be used to assist cancer patients in the Bega Valley.
Cobargo is Dancing!
Spring has popped! Come and dance at the No Lights No Lycra theme nights once every month.
Remember dancing happens every Monday at 6pm in the Cobargo Hall - all sorts of people are grooving, moving, boogieing and dancing like there is no tomorrow to a range of modern music (No Lights No Lycra style).
September 5, Pop Music: Pop music is eclectic and comes from other styles such as urban, dance, rock and country. There are core elements that define pop music such as repeated choruses and melodic tunes. Pop music comes from the term popular music derived from rock and roll starting in the Western World during the 1950s and 1960s and describes all music that is popular such as Adele, Daddy Cool and Ace of Bace.
October 3, 90s Music: 1990's music combined teen pop and dance-pop that had emerged in the 1970s and 1980s. Hip hop, rock music and electronic dance music grew and continued to be highly successful in the decade such as The Go-Gos, Kool and the Gang, Lenny Kravitz and Dee-lite
November 7, World Music: World music comes from traditional music, neotraditional music, and music where more than one cultural tradition intermingle including Angélique Kidjo,The Woohoo Revue,Yothu Yindi, JuJu and Toots & The Metals. A culturally exotic mix that you will enjoy.

Cobargo is Dancing (No Lights No Lycra Cobargo) is a weekly dance event for fun and all levels of fitness - physical, emotions and spiritual so it’s time you joined the latest thing in active mediation and started dancing!
Cobargo is Dancing is held on Mondays in the semi dark (not as dark in summer!).
It is an entirely sober dance party that attracts eager dancers.

SCMDC Call for Volunteers
The Sapphire Coast Marine Discovery Centre has volunteer positions available for Centre Guides.
People are needed from Monday to Friday, 10.30am to 2.30pm to conduct scheduled guided tours at 11am and 1pm.
Volunteers must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with groups of all ages and sizes.

Bermagui CC Social Anglers
A great weekend of fishing for the Bermagui CC Social Anglers’ Club recently resulted in a win for Tad, the lucky angler.
President Fran thanked all for their contributions and advised members of next month’s comp. against the Bermi Hotel anglers, it being an annual event.
This is over September 9-11, when we get together on the Sunday at the Hotel for a BBQ at 3pm.
The usual raffle went the way of Penny with Dawn a runner-up.
Members are advised that our annual Christmas get-away, which includes a fishing comp, is at Wallaga Lake Caravan Park, being held over the weekend November 25-27.

For the love of trees
The Arbor Amour exhibition at Spiral Gallery Bega has had many positive comments from visitors.
Emerging and established artists have interpreted and portrayed their love of trees through their mediums.
Baskets made from tree bark, felted scarves incorporating the colours of the snow gums, wooden platters showcasing the tree’s rings and internal beauty are displayed along with paintings, prints and photographs which have the tree as their focus.
Be sure to visit Spiral Gallery before 4pm, Wednesday, August 31, to see this exhibition.
Sport – the next exhibition opens on Friday, September 2. Spiral Gallery, 47 Church St Bega is open 10am–4pm, Monday-Friday and 10am–1pm Saturday.
RSL sub-branch meeting
Bega RSL sub-branch will hold its monthly meeting on August 29 in Elgas House at 4.30pm. Matters for discussion include scholarship reports.
Tax help
Tax Help volunteers are on hand Mondays and Wednesdays at the Women’s Resource Centre, Peden St, Bega, until October 31.
Tax Help is free and confidential service to assist people to prepare and lodge tax returns electronically.
It is for women and men on low incomes who need help with their tax returns including seniors, people from non-English speaking backgrounds, those with a disability, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
