Emergency doctor rumour at regional hospital unfounded

A claim on social media that no emergency department doctor was on shift at the South East Regional Hospital on Wednesday night is said to be unfounded. Bega Valley Health Service general manager Heather Austin said the doctor booked for the shift was urgently called away due to a personal issue, but a replacement was found by 6pm.
