The headline act will be a repeat of last week’s clash with the Pambula-Merimbula Bulldogs in the top grade, while the under 18 Roosters face the Moruya Sharks and the Chicks play the She-Devils in league-tag.
The Roosters and the Bulldogs were classy in their efforts last week, with Bega looking particularly dangerous in attack off the back of Ryan Apps and Scott Fuller’s good form.
The Roosters appear to be in perfect harmony with the new guard slotting in well with veteran heads of the club.
Exciting young prospects like Joel Tamatea, Connor Carr and James Duncan are adding speed an impact to an already formidable line-up.
Apps will lead the front line with Fuller, Grant Jessop and Dillon Aldridge running good attacking lines.
Meanwhile, the defensive prowess of Shaun Bell and Robbie Ringland will be a huge boost for the Roosters to shut down attacking raids by the Bulldogs.
Clay Child and Shaun Bateman will both step into the announced side with the reserve grade roster enjoying a week off as minor premiers.
Bega also boasts some of the best outside backs in the competition with James Bower-Scott joining forces with Jackson Whitby and Lee Fuller to push to attack on the fringes.
The Bulldogs play a similarly fast and tactical game with great service from dummy-half Jarrod Cole.
The Roosters edged out the Bulldogs with some hard-hitting runs last week and will look for the same result to go straight into the major semi-final next week.
The under 18s will be similarly fast and fit with the Bower-Scott brothers in great form, while Zac Cuzner has been an unstoppable force in recent fixtures.
Will Picker and Joel Tamatea are also gaining momentum, while Jarred Finnerty and James Grant will add some stopping power to the talented young squad.
The Chicks will be overflowing with talented players for Sunday’s match, but a key might be shutting down Narooma’s power duo Jamie-Anne Wright and Lily Bennett.
Wright has one of the best kicking games in the comp and Bennett is nearly incomparable for speed.
However, the Chicks will look to the leadership of Joc Rogers to set plays. Madison Parbery is Bega’s pace runner, but Taelar Williams, Fiona Holmes, Hayley Jessop and Ali Ringland can also put on a mean sprint. Expect a strong defensive effort from the Chicks to keep the Narooma danger players at bay.
League-tag opens proceedings on Sunday with kick off at 10.30am with first grade to launch at 3pm.
