The Tathra United Football Club played over two days this week with some teams heading to a Friday night catch-up round.

Highlights for the club included the reserves keeping the ladder-leading Merimbula White team to a draw, while the under 16s bested Merimbula to sit level in first place.
A spokesman for the club said the Tathra reserves controlled the ball in the opening passages of play and were unlucky not to score against the White roster on the Eden ground.
Unfortunately for Tathra, a swift counter-attack from the Merimbula team resulted in a goal to lead 1-0 at the break. Tathra re-grouped in the second half with a brilliant solo effort by Marlon Thompson running with the ball out of defence, beating several tackles into striking range with a boot that beat the Merimbula keeper.
Earlier, the Tathra under 14s White team played Merimbula White in another tight contest that finished 2-1 in Merimbula’s favour Marley McCabe scored Tathra’s goal to level the score with Merimbula just getting ahead in the last five minutes. .
The Tathra Maroons played Eden and scored a convincing 6-1 win.
Tathra Under 14’s Maroon team played Eden and had a strong 6-1 win. Very impressive playing and passing amongst the whole Tathra team ensured the victory.
In regular Sunday play, the club’s second-placed under 16s faced off against the leading Merimbula team to record an important 4-1 win, levelling the two clubs on points.
Merimbula fired off an early goal, but the United juniors recovered well with Aaron Smith scoring an equaliser before Sebastian Weber put the visitors in front. Sam Collins then fired a goal to give Tathra a 3-1 lead at the break. Sebastian scored again in the second, while Tathra’s defence stayed firm to hold out the good win.
The first grade seniors went down 4-2 to Merimbula, but many had backed up from playing the earlier reserve grade match.
Tathra’s reserves backed up from their Friday game to play Merimbula Green, scoring another 1-1 draw with Merimbula scoring early and Daniel Rutter equalising off a direct free kick.
The ladies team played a seven-a-side tournament in Eden and were able to win the runner-up final, having just five players.
Their results included two wins and one loss, a strong result given the numbers shortage.
The under 14 Maroons scored a 9-0 win over Pambula, while the 14 Whites won 8-2 over Bega Stripe.
The under 12s and under 10s both suffered convincing losses to their respective opponents.
