Organisers said it was another blissfully still day with nary a breeze that allowed for fairly clean feedback on shot placement.
However, there was a subtle wind that would blow shots wayward into the five-point ring if shooters missed the cues.
Robert L had a good round in the full bore class, hitting 97/4 out of the possible 100/20.
Steven R joined in and hit a solid round of 84/1.
Colin T again showed form to win the F standard class for shooters with bipods and telescopic sights, pegging down a personal best.
Colin shot 119/11 out of the possible 120/20 with Warwick S nipping his heels on 116/7.
David D was just a bullsye back on 116/5 and one more to Russell P in fourth on 116/4.
Craig S hit 113/6 to lead Bob M by one after scoring 112/7.
Seventh went to Mark S, who shot 108/6 ahead of Scott B’s 106/3 and Glen D’s 97/2.
Organisers said it was great to welcome Glen and Steven for their first round and said the duo showed plenty of enthusiasm.
Officials said continuing visits would see them give club veterans some fierce competition.
Colin’s personal best round saw him take the lead in the club’s F class record from Russell by two bullseyes.
Sunday is a 600-yard championship prone round where any rifle 8mm or under is welcome.
Members meet at the Tarraganda range from 12.30pm.
Visitors and new members wanting some trigger time are always welcome.
