Even Royalty has to pay taxes. It is one of the facts of life.
The Bible tells us that Jesus’ parents went up to Jerusalem to be taxed when Mary was waiting for the baby to be born. Government pressure has always been a fact of life.
The other definite – even more so – fact of life is that no one escapes death and no one has returned to tell us what it is like.
What a lot of living we do. Some more than others, from infants to old age.
We read in the Bible that in those far away days some people lived for hundreds of years before they faced eternity.
But the certainty is that God loves us and will never forsake us.
Where do we find out about this?
We look around us at the beauty of nature; we eat off the fruit of the land.
Yes, but is that enough? It can fail.
Take your Bible.
Read it often and prayerfully. Take the divine Author into your life.
He said “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear My voice and open the door I will come into him and will sup with him and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20
Forget about ‘death and taxes’, this is more important. This is life.
