Seven shooters turned out for a crack at the elusive bullseye with the mildest of breezes allowing pretty clean feedback for shot placement.
Officials said the bullsye is just half a minute of angle in distance, so at 400 metres a five-score means being off the mark by as little as two inches if the wind isn’t corrected for.
In the fullbore standings Ole E was in great form hitting 91/3 from the possible 100/20 on the day, while Nils B scored 80 using his 223.
It was another strong scoring day for the F standard shooters with telescopic sights.
Warwick S hit the front of the pack with a strong score of 116/7 of the possible 120/20.
Craig S finished snecond on 113/5, David D was just behind on 111/5 edging Russell P by the two bullseyes on 111/3.
Mark S shot 96.
Officials said Nils landed the exact same score in both sets on the day to show his consistency, while members congratulated Warwick on an outstanding round.
Sunday is a lay day, while next weekend will be the final round in the club’s Fourro Championship series.
Shooters will take on 300, 500 and 600 yard distances with seven shots at each range.
Any rifle 8mm or under is welcome with events starting at 12.30pm on Sundays at the Tarraganda range.
Visitors and new members wanting some trigger time are always welcome. Please contact Robert on 0417 409 647 for further inquiries.
