This was as the preschool’s early childhood teacher Daryl Kelland was taking part in the Real Men Wear Pink fundraiser, which aims to collect donations for breast cancer research.
His mother survived breast cancer and he knew some of the preschool kids’ parents had also suffered from the disease.
Friday was a fun day, with face painting, cupcake making and balloons being handed out for the kids while some dressed in pink.
But none wore as many pink items as Mr Kelland did.
“My daughter walked out this morning and saw the hair and was a bit shocked, but happy,” he laughed.
“But my son surprised me, he was really impressed.”
By dressing up in pink it definitely encouraged the preschool’s kids to be inclusive, he said, as a few young boys wore pink on the day as well.
Mr Kelland has raised over $1157 so far, to donate visit www.realmenwearpink.org.au and search for his name.
