This rainfall is expected to cause moderate flooding at Bega North Monday morning.
At this stage it is not possible to predict the flood peak because of uncertainty over how much more rain will fall. The predicted flood height is greater than the 1991 flood. At the forecast height, flooding will in areas near the river and its tributaries.
Low sections of roads will be flooded, as will low-lying farmlands between Bemboka and the coast.
Predicted River Heights/Flows:
Bega North exceed minor flood Level (4.5 metres) around 6 pm Sunday with forecast rainfall may reach 7.5 metres with moderate flooding around 5am Monday.

At 4.5m hight there is a high probability that the following road closures will occur tonight:
- Highway closed detour via North Lagoon.
- Auckland Street closed at north east end.
- Farm equipment to be moved and workshops on farms to have equipment moved to higher ground.
- Bega Street impacted
- Both Bridges East of Bega Bridge Closed
- Angledale Road & Buckajo Road closed isolating approximately 20-30 homes.
- Springvale isolated 25-30 homes. Usual isolation period about 24 hours.
- North-east end of East Street inundated.
- Water begins to inundate greens on Bega Bowling club.
- Corner Park and Swan Streets starts to flood
- Water crosses State Highway 4 at Russells Bridge.
- Water starts to impact Carp Street
