Tathra
On Monday morning, more than 120 people attended a Biggest Morning Tea event at the Tathra Beach Country Club.
A delicious spread had been prepared by the lady golfers and their friends, which raised over $1900 for this worthy cause.
There was a trading table, lucky dip and some of the local craft groups had displays and items for sale.
Many lucky door prizes were given out and several raffles were run, which helped towards raising the money.
Lesley Baird took over this day from Dorothea Burhop, who retired last year after being the convener for many years. Ms Baird thanked all those who helped her and said she would continue on the tradition again next year.
Brogo Hall
One of the largest Biggest Morning Teas in the district for the past 17 years, Brogo Hall will play host to its popular annual event on Friday, May 27, from 11am.
There will be a $5 entry charge – but that gets you all the fresh home-made cakes, soup and sandwiches you can eat – and as many cuppas as you can handle. All proceeds from the day go to the Cancer Council NSW.
As well as refreshments there will be entertainment, raffles, craft stalls and a market table.
Tanja
Paul West of River Cottage Australia fame will be the special guest at a Biggest Morning Tea to be held at Tanja Hall on Saturday, May 28.
Mr West will officially open the event at 10.30am.
Of particular note for this event will be scone judging, with the yummy baked good to be registered by 9.45am and winners announced by renowned local baked goods extraordinaire Nelleke Gorton at 10.45.
Grab yourself a Devonshire tea while admiring ceramic displays, fancy dress competitions and entertainment from Aden Long and a-cappella choir Singlets.
