A 39 year old man has been detected with cannabis after being stopped by Bega Target Action Group Police around 9pm Sunday, May 22.

The male was a passenger in vehicle that was stopped in Upper St, Bega for a roadside breath test. After a subsequent search the cannabis was located and seized by police.
The man will face Bega Local Court.

A 20 year old male has been issued a criminal infringement notice after an incident in East St, Bega.
Police were called to the location around 4.45pm Sunday, May 22, because of a dispute.
The male was detected swearing loudly among other people.
The notice is for Offensive Language and a fine of $500 applies.

Between 8.50am and 11.50am on Sunday, May 22, a Ford vehicle was parked and unattended in the carpark near the Bruce Steer Pool, Bermagui National Park.
Offender/s have gained entry to the vehicle by opening an unlocked door.
A handbag, cash and contents was stolen from under the driver’s seat.
Police have taken a report.

Between 9.30pm on Sunday, May 15, and 6am Monday, May 16, unknown person/s have gained entry to a home unit in Monaro St, Merimbula.
An insect screen was removed to gain access to a ground floor garage.
Alcohol and cash have been reported as stolen. The occupants were home during the incident and asleep.
Police are investigating.

A 47 year old female from Batemans Bay has been detected drink driving on Sunday morning, May 22.
Police were conducting mobile drug and alcohol testing as part of a three day operation in the Far South Coast LAC.
The female was driving a black ute on Beach Rd and stopped about 11am.
She returned a positive reading for alcohol and arrested. At the drug bus she recorded a mid range reading.
She was issued a field court attendance notice to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on May 27.
Her licence has been suspended.

Around 11pm May 22 a fire was set to scrub to the northern and southern side of the Tomakin boat ramp.
Rural Fire Service and Police were contacted and attended a short time later.
The fire was successfully extinguished.
The fire appears to be deliberately lit and inquiries are continuing.
No structures or property were damaged as a result of the fire.

Around $100 worth of fishing gear has been stolen outside a van in a caravan park North Batemans Bay.
A fishing rod and tackle box was taken sometime between Friday evening, May 20, and 6pm Saturday, May 21.
Police urge the community to secure their valuables at all times.

A grey box trailer has been stolen from a property at Hawdon St, Moruya sometime between May 21 and 22.
The trailer has registration plates Z55471.

Between 8am and 10pm Monday, May 16, unknown person/s have gained entry to the rear of a house in Tuross Boulevarde, Tuross Head.
An insect screen on a rear window was bent allowing access to an open window.
Offender/s have then reached in and unlocked a rear door.
Once inside the offender/s have moved through the house.
At this stage it is not known if property had been stolen.
Police have taken a report and will forensically examine the scene.

About 1.45pm Tuesday, May 17, a 22 year old male rider of a Yamaha 250 motorbike was heading north along the Princes Hwy, Coila.
He reportedly slowed and conducted a u-turn into the path of a Toyota ute travelling north.
The 37 year old driver of the ute was unable to stop and collided with the motor bike while attempting evasive action.
Police and ambulance attended a short time later. The rider was conveyed to Canberra Hospital via helicopter to undergo surgery for a broken leg and possible other injuries.
The driver of the ute was taken to Moruya Hospital to undergo mandatory blood and urine tests.
Police investigations are continuing.
