Bega Valley Shire Library’s Anne Moore read I Got This Hat by Jol and Kate Temple among other hat themed books on Wednesday, May 25 to the children of Bandara Children Services and Bega Preschool, encouraging them to read and enjoy books.
Now in its 16th year, National Simultaneous Storytime is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association.
A picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, preschools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.
“Children enjoy dressing up and this is the perfect event to hunt out an unusual or wacky hat and show it off,” the library’s programs and partnerships officer Scott Baker said.
