Country Women’s Association members around the state have made Mongolia their country of study this year, visiting schools to share information gathered and learning all they can about the Asian nation.
CWA Far South Coast international officer Patricia Munchenburg said some snippets of info had surprised, including that five Mongolias could fit inside Australia – and that Mongolian lamb as we know it is nothing like the real thing!
And as for Mongolia’s most famous figure, the history and legacy of Genghis Khan has been particularly eye-opening.
As part of their study of the country, local CWA members have also enjoyed guest speakers, craft-making and a day in Canberra hosted by the Mongolian ambassador.
