Offering download speeds of up to 25 Megabits per second (Mbps) and upload speeds of up to 5Mbps, the Sky Muster service will provide a faster online experience for internet users living in regional and remote areas.
NBNCo launched its first satellite, Sky Muster 1, in October 2015, with the second satellite on track for launch later this year.
A ground station at Wolumla is one of 10 around the country providing broadband signals and satellite telemetry to the Sky Muster service.
Eligible customers can now contact their local internet service provider to order a broadband connection over the orbiting satellite. Each service requires a professional installation of a new receiver dish and indoor modem.
Meanwhile, NBNCo has announced the fixed wireless towers around the Bermagui, Cobargo and Wallaga Lake areas are now live and residents can apply for that service.
The Wallaga Lake tower will service 432 premises, the Bermagui Town tower 276, a tower at Coolagolite will service 103 homes and businesses in parts of the area and the Cobargo tower will allow 412 premises to connect.
