Officials said the D grade competition hasn’t launched yet, but will make a return to the Valley Fields on the coming weekend.
All other grades hit the ground running with the newly formed Grand Hotel B grade battling the Elders B roster.
Similar to last year the A grade and A reserve also contested a combined round before the draws are set to split.
The combined Grand Hotel A played a good game as the two sides look to settle under one banner when it took on United.
In men’s clashes the Grand played Candelo, while the Magpies faced off with Pambula.
Officials said they were delighted with the first round as a good crowd of supporters turned out to cheer on sides across a full draw of games.
Two mens games and four A grade / A reserve women’s clashes headlined the day with the senior play hitting the ground at 1.30pm on Saturday.
A full draw for this weekend will be in Friday’s BDN.
