Dressed in school uniform and with a medal-adorned mother by her side, Amy De Friskbom held a poster with multiple photos and a simple message of “Thank you”.
Pictured were her great-great-grandfather, great-grandfather, “Poppy”, two uncles, her father, mother and brother – all of whom served, or are currently serving, in the military.
Mum Michelle said they had recently moved to the area from Darwin and she was now an Army reservist.
She and Amy’s father have both served in the Middle East, with their son currently on deployment.
As for Amy? “She says she wants to be a chaplain in the Army...who paints nails,” Michelle said with a laugh.
