The Panthers got over the Narooma Lions, who were a strong contender for the pre-season Aussie rules title this year.
The Lions had knocked over the host side from the Tathra Sea Eagles to advance to the finals, while a ruling on player numbers forced a forfeit from the Eden Whalers against Pambula in the second semi.
The Bermagui Breakers had also been exceptional in their early clashes, but didn’t qualify for the semi-finals after their round results.
AFL ACT/NSW officer Jarrod Moore said a highlight for the day was the launch of the SCAFL women’s competition, that saw six ladies’ teams take part in the day.
Women’s matches were extremely well contested, but Eden could be shaping as the competition powerhouse after a good showing on the day.
