Their leather suits and dark helmets closely resembled that of a super-hero’s costume, assisting them to speeds beyond 80 km/h.
They’re peers cheering support at the starting line for each race while their friends, family and fans cheered at the finish.
More than 110 longboard enthusiasts took part in the weekends International Downhill Federation World Cup series at Mount Keira - the only one of it’s kind in Australia.
Current women’s world champion Emily Pross from the USA took out the women’s trophy on Sunday. Brazillian Max Ballesteros won the open category.
Riders came from all over the world including Brazil, Canada, USA, Ireland, Taiwan, China, Spain, Italy, Malaysia, Ecuador and the Philippines.
Next week the tour heads to New Zealand for round two then the Philippines, China, Canada, and the USA.
It’s the second time Mount Keira has hosted the event and certainly not the last, with organisers planning to use the idyllic hill every year to come.
