They form a composite Kindergarten and Year 1 class lead by teacher Jacqueline Crockford who has been inspired by the new pupil’s thirst for knowledge.
“They are gorgeous, positively gorgeous,” she said on Friday with a beaming smile.
“The Kindergarten pupils are sweet and eager to learn.”
Ms Crockford said the most important areas of focus in the first weeks of school are structure, routine and an early start to numeracy and literacy.
She also said the composite class gives the new pupils an advantage at adjusting to the new environment.
“They have the older kids to learn from so it is very beneficial,” she said.
“We also try to keep class numbers low for the K-1 class so they have more individual time.”
School Learning Support Officer Lisa Griffen was also full of praise for the new pupils.
“They are awesome,” she said.
“They are seriously a great bunch of kindy kids.
“They are very confident, self aware and super keen to learn.”
