Challenge to council
Every Tuesday and Friday in the Bega News for at least two years a resident or residents have complained the council doesn’t consult residents on important decisions.

The Frogs Hollow flight school, the decimation of Littleton Gardens and the RV friendly town thing are just three of those issues.
Funny after all the complaints about the proposed flight school council has not replied whether that will happen or not?
Coming past the flight school’s front entrance I noticed roadworks where the road is perfectly sound?
I also noticed a lot of expensive new chain mail fencing?
The RV friendly town thing was a done deal a long time before those who would be badly affected found out.
Now we have a miniature Ayers Rock in the middle of Liddleton Gardens whose plaque I am sure will bear the mayor’s name, or is that epitaph.
Council’s lack of public reply to concerned residents is for two reasons only.
Firstly they have already done the deal and don’t care who complains; secondly they are hoping those who complain will just give up like many do and the issue will disappear and they can do what they were going to do anyway.
Reminds me of politicians who go to remote communities to consult with the people.
The people in these communities call them “cockatoos” because they fly in, screech a lot, crap all over everyone, then do what they were going to do anyway.
I challenge both council and residents.
Firstly I challenge the council to reply publicly either yes or no – not maybe this and maybe that – when residents raise issues.
Secondly I challenge all residents, if you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything.
Make your feelings known with your votes in the next council elections.
Councillors and residents are supposed to have a partnership. “But you can’t have a partnership without a relationship and you can’t have a relationship without a conversation, it all starts from there.”

Waiting time questioned
To the Southern NSW health district;
No disrespect to the staff at Pambula Hospital, however it needs to be questioned why my sick daughter and my family were waiting in a full emergency waiting room between 11am and 3.30pm on a Sunday with only one doctor on?
A second doctor finally came on at 3pm, but during a busy holiday region with thousands of people on holidays, why is there only one doctor on when no clinics or chemists are normally open on a Sunday?
For the sake of the region and piece of mind of people needing "emergency" assistance, please explain?

Poetry page suggestion
There are many students who learn poetry skills at school.
It would be nice for the students to have somewhere to publish their poetry.
Just once a month, students from all different schools and ages could send in their poems to be published in the Bega District News.
It could encourage many more students to write poetry and it can give students a lot more confidence in writing it.
And a lot more students would read the paper.
It can also let the community know what our schools are up to in poetry writing.
In conclusion, I think this would help a lot of students with their poetry and let students gain confidence in their poetry writing.
