Work will start next week to improve safety for motorists on a section of the Princes Highway south of Bega.

Member for Bega Andrew Constance said the NSW Government allocated $2.1 million to upgrade an 800 metre section of the highway at Frogs Hollow Lane.
“Two bends on the highway will be widened to improve safety on this section of the road,” Mr Constance said.
“This part of the highway was identified for an upgrade after five crashes were recorded in the five years to January 2014.
“Work will start on Monday January 4 and motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions including a reduced 40 km/h speed limit through the work area.
Work will be carried out on weekdays between 7am and 5pm until April, weather permitting. Traffic control and lane closures will be in place during the day with all lanes open to traffic at night.
No work will be carried out during the Australia Day long weekend.
“I would like to thank motorists for their patience while work is carried out, and ask that all traffic signs be obeyed,” said Mr Constance.
“The safety upgrade is part of Roads and Maritime’s commitment to delivering safe, efficient and high quality services and infrastructure to the community and businesses of the South Coast,” Mr Constance said.
