They have come up with a novel theme for the occasion.
As the Bega Hospital was opened in 1957, a 1950s dress and decoration theme was suggested as part of the celebrations and was quickly taken up.
Plans for the celebrations, to be held at the Bega Hospital on December 16, include ward decoration, fancy dress, a cake competition, wondering minstrels, an acapella group, tasty foods and a barbecue lunch.
Photos of the hospital as it progressed from the 1950s, including the transformation of nursing uniforms and caps, will also be displayed.
Staff from the Bega Hospital thanked all the local organisations, families and individuals who have supported the hospital in one shape or another during its lifetime.
There are many Bega Valley residents who once worked at the hospital and they too are invited to join in the celebrations.
