Trumpets, violins, trombones, cellos, saxophones and percussion were played by the pupils at their concerts that were performed in Cooma, Bredbo, Canberra and Michelago on November 18-19.
Numbers in the audiences varied, from over 300 when they played at Orana Steiner School in Canberra to 16 when performing to Bredbo Public.
When speaking to a group of the Years 5-6 pupils part of the band and ensemble, the majority thought their best performance had been at Cooma while the nicest place to visit was Orana.
Michelago was the hardest place to play because it was so hot.
“When we played at Michelago all the strings kept going out of tune and it was very windy,” Mumbulla School pupil Isabel Gill said.
Some of the songs the ensemble and band played separately included Waltzing Matilda, Under the Sea, Pirates of the Caribbean and Geronimo before they all came together to perform I Feel Good.
The Mumbulla School pupils said they made plenty of new friends in the schools they visited and, aside from performing, their favourite parts of the trip were playing in a pool in Canberra and visiting Sky Zone.
