Santa left his sleigh at home instead opting for the flashing lights and sirens of a Bega SES vehicle as he made his entrance at the St Patrick’s School Food Fest on Saturday, November 21.

The organisers couldn’t have asked for a better day, the sun was out bringing with it a lovely hot summer’s day but children were able to cool off at the ever popular water fight station.
Other activities that were enjoyed by children include zorb balls, a jumping castle, face painting, coconut bowling and lucky dips.
Antoinette Woods from the fete’s organising committee and one of the P&F Social Committee coordinators said she was thrilled with the turnout.
“It was particularly wonderful to see members from the Parish and wider community come and join in the fun,” Ms Woods said.
“The crowds were slow but steady which helped create a relaxed vibe which was great because no one stall seemed run off its feet.”
The theme for this year’s fete was Food Fest as the P&F partnered with Karyn Cheers from Your Inspiration at Home. The Food Fest gave people a chance to taste some of her products available for purchase.
As part of a fundraiser for the school, up to 40 per cent of the profit from various Your Inspiration at Home products will be donated to the school.
Orders made until Wednesday, November 25 will be part of this fundraising initiative.
This was the first time the school has held its annual fete on a Saturday instead of a Friday afternoon.
“This year we thought we would try the Saturday to see if it enabled more people to get involved.”
But Ms Woods felt as though there was a smaller crowd than previous years.
“The success of having it on a Saturday will be discussed at the next P&F meeting,” she said.
Winners of the raffle were:
$200 meat/seafood voucher from Butcher's Block - Bob Armstrong
$100 petrol voucher - Michelle Taylor
$50 Big W voucher - Meg Doherty
The Kite family won the $50 Cake Decorating Competition with the prize money kindly donated by Andrew Warren Associates.
Ms Woods thanked the many local businesses that supported the Food Fest with vouchers and donations.
