The Pat and Joe McBride Scholarship has donated over $21,000 worth of advanced life support training equipment to the Bega Hospital.
The Bega Valley’s director of nursing and midwifery Nicole Tate praised the scholarship for its assistance to local health professionals.
“Joe McBride’s most recent donation has enabled every nursing department in Bega to have their own set of simulation equipment, which allows our talented team of clinical nurse educators to provide localised and interactive training on site,” Ms Tate said.
“It results in more local nurses and midwives obtaining knowledge and enhancing their skills.”
Ms Tate thanked Mr McBride for his generosity, reinforcing the fact that the funding also benefits the wider community.
The hospital team said Mr McBride hopes the scholarship can remain sustainable.
